Dear Rodrigo!

Thank you very much for your attention to our country. Now we are involving to help the victims of tsunami in Aceh and North Sumatra. What we have been working is coordinating to work together with the franciscan family in Indonesia, mainly with the Capuchins (OFMCap Medan and OFMCap Sibolga, near Nias).

The strategic places for coordinating are:

    • c. Long-periode: after knowing the update situation, we will arrange it.

B. What we are doing?

  • Right now three friars from JPIC OFM joined with the capuchins in Medan.
  • In Jakarta, we cultivate the collaboration with other franciscan families; we collect the matter needed for helping the victims.
  • Our focus is the refugees from Aceh that have flooded to Medan. If it is possible our volunteers try to enter in Aceh.
  • We also pay attention to the victims in Nias.
  • I will send you the details need (how much money we need to help the victims) in short time, after I got new information from Medan (JPIC OFM Cap Medan).
