Morning Session
The particiapants began their work this morning with a very emotional prayer service prepared by the Conference of East Asia.
After the reading of the summary of the previous days, the participants studied each of the nine proposals drawn up by the Congress. They discussed the contents and wording of each of the proposals.
Afterwards, Cesare Azimonti, presented the final document of the Congress, and the particiapants make suggestions and pointed out corrections.
The assembly greeted two Provincial Ministers at the Congress: Br. Luigi Ortaglio of the Province of Naples and Br. Valmir of the Custoday of San Pablo in Brazil. The session ended at 12:20 for lunch.
Afternoon Session
The participants met again in the meeting hall at the university for the final session of the Congress. Marcus Heinze and Rodrigo Peret made a presentation on the work of Franciscans International. They explained its work and the challenges it faces as an NGO of the Franciscan Family. They spoke of its work at the United Nations in the areas of human rights, peacemaking and support for other groups.
Afterwards the participants approved the draft document of the Congress unanimously. Luis Cabrera and Joe Rozansky thanked all who made the Congress possible. They also thanked Miguel Álvarez and the General Minister for animating the participants to bring about collaboration with all parts of the Order and make permanent our presence among the excluded.
The Congress ended with a Eucharistic celebration in the Sanctuary of Aparecida, where the participants shared with the bishop of Uberlândia. After the Mass, the participants shared a fraternal meal with the novices, young friars and people of the area.
